Cardiology Research Center, Moscow is one of the principal clinical instututions in Russia. It incorporates also an advanced production facility (Experimental Plant) and the research institute (Experimental Cardiology) with highly qualified specialists. CardioCenter coordinates activity of numeral independent scientific groups forwarded to development of new medicals and finding methods of their clinical application.

Institute of Expecimental Cardiology for decades concentrates efforts on biomedical application of native and recombinant proteins and macromolecular composites.
These are:

Research projects aimed for diagnosis and treatment of heart and circulatory deseases result in unpredicted effects other areas of clinical practice, like transplantation, hematology, and immunology. Pre-clinical drug studies of are qualified at the internationally accepted level according to the approved protocols (GLP). Cardio-Center-Moscow actively participates in internatonal scientific projects funded by governmental and private structures from USA and Europe.

Cooperation in the frame of Non-Proliferation Program connect scientists previously involved in military projects, civil experts of drug design, and western companies.
The project CRAB COLLAGENASE FOR TREATMENT OF BURNS is supported since 1999 by the US government grant via International Science and Technology Center.
Current result of this project is a pilot scale production technology of collagenolytic multi-enzyme preparation ENZYCOL (including appropriate QC procedures). In a formulation composed on the basis of the drug substance, ENZYCOL demonstrated pronounced pharmacological effects in treatment of heavily infected grade III burn wound on rats.

Further development of this project presumes combination of ENZYCOL with antibiotics and approved pharmaceutical substances in order to optimize prospective clinical application of the formulated drug. Experimental work is planned to complete pre-clinical studies in 2004.
